Background: The skills and abilities required of EEO professionals
are the cornerstone of any successful EEO program. Not only
understanding the rules, but practical application of new skills
and varying techniques is the template for success of the program.
EEO, HR and Office of Counsel professionals require an understanding
of the rights and responsibilities inherent in any counseling
action. Their knowledge is the link to early resolution, professional
service and advice, and options available to all the members
of the advisory team to senior leadership.
EEO professionals must be prepared to answer the deluge of
questions and concerns that have and will come. They must
be knowledgeable of each and every change in policy and process,
and be able to convey that same knowledge to their customers.
This one-day update--required by the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, the EEOC MD 110, and the 29 CFR 1614--will review
current requirements, provide insight into the processing
of claims of harassment, regardless of its focus, review policy
associated with contingent workers, and review new rules that
address reasonable accommodation. Additional areas of discussion
include writing EEO Counselor Reports, Options Approach for
Non EEO Issues, and more.
Course requirements: Each student is required to bring their
personal toolbox, which should include as a minimum copies
of EEOC MD-110 and the 29 CFR 1614.
A participant manual will be provided as well as a copy of
Moore & Associates "Quik Reference Checklist for
EEO Professionals."
