Leadership Influence: How Credibility Creates the Power of Commitment

Developed & Presented by Warren Blank, Ph.D., President - The Leadership Group

What role does credibility play in influencing others?
How can you maximize your credibility to gain commitment?

This seminar will address these questions and describe how formal rank or role is not always necessary to influence others to commit to ideas and action plans. The power to influence others and have them follow your lead is a skill which can be enhanced. This session will help you discover the difference between gaining commitment vs relying on formal authority, creating desire rather than demanding compliance, and inspiring vs requiring others to take action - so that you have willing "followers" who support your ideas and are dedicated to help you succeed.

This fast-paced, dynamic workshop will engage you in activities throughout the day, using video clips and practical activities in a highly interactive approach to learning. And, it's enjoyable!

Objectives: Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • State the key differences between the leader and manager influence.
  • Identify the source of leadership influence and how it forms one's "influence posture."
  • Describe the impact of credibility on one's ability to influence others.
  • Maximize their personal credibility in ways that gain commitment.
  • Maximize the credibility of their paths of action in ways that enhance commitment
  • Apply the "action ideas" presented in the program
